Hunt PTA

Bank Day

This is a program to help children to learn to save money. Hunt was the first elementary school in the Puyallup School District to have this program. It started here at Hunt in September of 1996. It has been a very successful program. Washington Mutual provides the children with their own savings account. The children are able to deposit money into their account at school, however they do have to go to the bank to withdraw any money. It is a great opportunity for them to learn how to save money without going to the bank every week. It only takes a quarter to open the account and they can deposit as little as a dime each week.

This very special banking program is offered every last Friday of the month. The students can make their bank deposits from 8:00am to 12:00pm on the last Friday of each month. There are incentive prices for the children as well. The bank provides everything at no cost to the children, the school, the PTA or you. In order to provide this program, it takes two or three adult volunteers for each Friday morning/afternoon. Ideally, we would like to have 8 to 12 volunteers.
